Internship Opportunities
Elevate your dedication to freedom and human rights as an Intern with the East Turkistan Government in Exile (ETGE). Interns hold a pivotal role in supporting the functions of our government-in-exile, working diligently to advance the cause of East Turkistan’s independence. This unique opportunity offers invaluable insights into the operations of a government body dedicated to the pursuit of justice and external self-determination.
Application Deadlines:
- Spring Internships (1 February – 30 April): Application due by January 1
- Summer Internships (1 May – 31 July): Application due by April 1
- Fall Internships (1 August – 31 October): Application due by July 1
- Winter Internships (1 November – 31 January): Application due by October 1
Commitment: Applicants are expected to dedicate a minimum of 180 internship hours (roughly 15 hours per week) over a 12-week period.
Compensation: While this internship is unpaid, we are willing to work with you to facilitate class credit. It offers a valuable opportunity for skill development and practical experience within the context of a government-in-exile. Successful completion of the internship will earn you references from senior staff and a unique learning experience with one of the most effective entities in the field of political activism and governance.
Communications and Outreach Intern
- Description: Join our team as a Communications and Outreach Intern and assist in disseminating important information to the public, maintaining our social media presence, and engaging with supporters and partners.
- Qualifications: Strong communication skills, social media proficiency, and a passion for human rights advocacy.
Human Rights and Political Advocacy Intern
- Description: Join our advocacy efforts as a Human Rights and Political Advocacy Intern. You’ll work on campaigns, engage with policymakers, governments, and organizations and help raise awareness of the humanitarian crisis in East Turkistan. This role is instrumental in advocating for change.
- Qualifications: Strong advocacy skills, familiarity with geopolitics, human rights issues, ability to engage with government officials, and a passion for diplomacy, politics, and international relations.
Event Coordination and Support Intern
- Description: Contribute to the planning and execution of events, webinars, and conferences. Coordinate logistics and assist in ensuring successful events.
- Qualifications: Organizational skills, attention to detail, and an interest in event planning.
Graphic Design Intern (Including Video Content Creation)
- Description: Join our team as a Graphic Design Intern and play a crucial role in creating visually compelling content for our social media platforms and other communication channels. You’ll design graphics, infographics, and videos that help convey our message and raise awareness about East Turkistan-related issues.
- Qualifications: Proficiency in graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite), video editing skills, creativity, and an eye for visual storytelling. Experience in creating social media content is a plus.
Research Intern
- Description: Join our team as a Research Intern to conduct in-depth research on East Turkistan-related topics, human rights issues, and geopolitical developments. Your findings will contribute to our advocacy efforts and policy recommendations.
- Qualifications: Strong research skills, attention to detail, ability to analyze complex information, and proficiency in academic or policy research.
