Join us for East Turkistan Lobbying Day from September 12 – September 13, 2024 as we call on members of Congress to take decisive action in supporting the rights of the East Turkistani people and recognizing the root of the ongoing Uyghur genocide—the Chinese occupation and colonization of East Turkistan. This two-day event is an opportunity to push for legislation that will hold China accountable for its atrocities against Uyghurs, Kazakhs, Kyrgyz, and other Turkic peoples in Occupied East Turkistan.
We are urging Congress to support the following key legislative measures:
- Uyghur Policy Act (S.1252):
This bill calls for the creation of a Special Coordinator for East Turkistani/Uyghur Issues to ensure that the U.S. government remains focused on the plight of East Turkistan / Uyghurs and continues to push for their protection and rights on the international stage. - Uyghur Genocide Intelligence Review Act (H.R.3349):
A bill directing the intelligence community to review and assess the genocide against the Uyghur and other Turkic peoples in East Turkistan and to report its findings to Congress. - Uyghur Genocide Accountability and Sanctions Act (H.R.8124):
This act calls for sanctions against Chinese officials and entities responsible for the genocide and crimes against humanity in East Turkistan, holding them accountable for their actions. - Uyghur Forced Labor Disclosure Act (H.R.4840):
A bill requiring companies to disclose any connections to forced labor in East Turkistan as part of their supply chains, ensuring transparency and preventing the exploitation of Uyghur forced labor. - Confronting CCP Human Rights Abusers Act (H.R.8847):
This act targets Chinese Communist Party officials involved in human rights atrocities, ensuring that the perpetrators of the Uyghur genocide face justice. - Resolution Recognizing East Turkistan as Occupied by China:
A resolution acknowledging East Turkistan’s current status as an occupied country under Chinese occupation, paving the way for greater international recognition of the East Turkistani people’s right to external self-determination.
