Visits to Xinjiang by a number of Islamic figures and scholars from a number of countries, became the spotlight of the Washington-based East Turkistan Government in Exile (ETGE).

ETGE in a statement on Tuesday (10/11) strongly condemned the visit, calling it “shameless”. The visit by the delegation of the World Muslim Community Council (TWMCC) to East Turkistan or known as Uighuristan is to justify the genocide that China has been carrying out so far against Uighurs. “We firmly reject TWMCC’s shameless attempts to appease China and equate East Turkestan’s struggle to regain its freedom, independence and dignity with so-called “terrorism and extremism,” said ETGE Prime Minister Salih Hudayar, as quoted from Devdiscourse .

He stressed that East Turkestan was not part of China, but rather an occupied territory.”East Turkistan people also don’t want to be called Chinese Muslims’, they are Muslims in East Turkestan,” he said. on Monday (9/1).Ma Xingrui, Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party in Xinjiang, welcomed TWMCC’s visit to Urumqi. In its report, the Global Times said the envoys acknowledged their support for China’s stance on issues related to Xinjiang, especially in the face of US pressure. and Western countries that spread genocide issues.During the meeting, TWMCC chairman Ali Rashid Abudula Ali Alnuaimi praised the region’s measures against terrorism and extremism, as well as those who have contributed to stability and development in the region.

He also noted that some anti-China forces have attacked China, especially on topics related to the Xinjiang and Xizang regions and the island of Taiwan, which are related to China’s national security.”The whole world needs China, and its stability and prosperity are also important to the world,” Ali said, adding that the relationship between Islamic civilizations and China is historical and characterized by friendship, cooperation and alliance.

ETGE in its statement called on the 14 countries that visited Xinjiang, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Syria, Bahrain, Serbia, Tunisia, and Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kuwait and Sudan, to oppose China’s ongoing genocide against the Uighur people. “Instead of praising and even falling in love with Chinese propaganda and supporting China’s war against Islam,” the ETGE statement read.

President Ghulam Yaghma of ETGE asked the 14 countries to apologize.

“We demand that TWMCC apologize and stop supporting Chinese propaganda to discredit the national cause of the Muslim-majority East Turkistan nation,” Yaghma said.
