Refuting Allegations of the East Turkistan Government in Exile’s Involvement in a Violent Confrontation Occurring in April 2022

The below statement is attributed to the East Turkistan Government in Exile’s Executive Council.

We condemn the violent confrontation on April 14, 2022, which led to great distress and confusion among the East Turkistani / Uyghur diaspora community.

We notice that there have been allegations that member(s) of the East Turkistan Government in Exile were involved in a violent conflation between two individuals on April 14, 2022. We reject these allegations and make it clear that the East Turkistan Government in Exile does not espouse or promote violence in any form. We urge the relevant authorities to investigate the violent confrontation which occurred in April, and we pray for justice to be served.

As stated in the Epoch Times article, Anwar Yusuf Turani was expelled/impeached by the East Turkistan Government in Exile’s Parliament in 2006. However, even after his expulsion /impeachment, Mr. Turani has stubbornly and fraudulently claimed to represent the East Turkistan Government in Exile. Mr. Bilal Ibrahimturkistani, who is affiliated with Mr. Turani, has never had any affiliation with the East Turkistan Government in Exile.
